The purpose of this course is to help you understand the basics of Scrum and how to adopt it effectively and quickly in your workplace. This course is suitable for whoever wants to understand how Scrum can help improve delivery and productivity in complex environments. It gives participants all the tools to start with Scrum, even where it has not been used before. The package is also suitable for whoever is involved in a Scrum Team and wants to improve its implementation. Even if it is designed for Product Owners specifically, all the members of a Development Team can benefit from it: Developers, Business Analysts, Testers, as well as Team Leaders and Managers. It is perfect for Product Owners that did not receive proper training.

An authentic course

This course is accredited by Scrum Alliance as fulfilling all Learning Objectives of the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification. After successful completion of this course and after passing the online multiple-choice test, participants will receive the Scrum Alliance Certified Product Owner (CSPO) qualification.

Curriculum

This course is extremely interactive and based on activities, games, discussions and real life examples. The course is structured in a first five-hour session and 5 four-hour sessions for a total of 25 contact hours. Each session is run in Zoom and we leverage Miro as our collaboration tool.

Starting from the Agile Manifesto, you understand roles, responsibilities and interactions in a Scrum Team. You learn how to create Scrum Artifacts. You Agile methodologies allow teams to evolve and become self-organised, so that they can cope with change as well as “embrace” it to continuously improve. You also understand that Scrum is adaptive and focused on people and interactions, rather than on the adoption of practices or the implementation of processes. You learn and practice tools and techniques that each Product Owner should master to achieve a effective product planning, meet stakeholder needs and maximise Return On Investment and team work.

There are no prerequisites to join this course. However we strongly recommend you read the Scrum Guide before the course starts.
The whole course is structured in such a way that learning is visible through discussions, activities, simulations, and small projects. There is no real test, however, at the end of the course, participants will present their coaching approach with regard to their choice of two scenarios.
You are not allowed to miss any lessons if you want to achieve the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification.
Each weekly call lasts 4 hours. There are assignments that you will have to complete before each lesson that will take about an hour.
You will get access to the Miro board during the course. You will receive a pdf export of the board at the end of the course.
